SL Schools’ Aquatic Championship to take place on 7-11 December

The Sri Lanka Schools’ Aquatic Championship will be held at the Sugathadasa Swimming Complex from 7 to 11 December.

Five thousand athletes representing 200 schools will be participating in this year's tournament under the patronage of Nestlé. The tournament will be held under five age groups, under-10, under-12, under-14, under-16, under-18, and under-20, with 140 singles and 24 relay events scheduled to take place. Certificates will be awarded to children who win in the under-10 and under-12 age categories as well as to those who successfully complete the competitions. For athletes participating in under-18 and under 20 age groups, certificates will be presented to the top eight, while the top three will receive medals. Trophies will be awarded to the best female and male players, and the best female and male teams in under-14, under-16, under-18, and under-20 age groups. Two hundred and seventy-five boys’ schools and 180 girls’ schools have applied for the tournament. The last time the tournament was held was in 2019 when Lyceum College Wattala won the mixed school championship, Visakha Vidyalaya won the girls’ schools’ championship, and St. Joseph’s College won the boys’ schools’ championship.
