Foreign media recently reported that the Brisbane Gabba Cricket Stadium in Australia will be demolished after the 2032 Olympics.
A new 63,000-seat stadium is to be built at Brisbane's Victoria Park for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The stadium will replace Brisbane's Gabba Cricket Ground and become the home of cricket and football.
Although the Brisbane Gabba Cricket Stadium was previously scheduled to be renovated by Cricket Australia, it has been decided to demolish the stadium due to the huge cost involved.
Built in 1895, the Brisbane Gabba Cricket Stadium has hosted 67 Test matches and 2 women's Test matches since its first match in 1931.The Brisbane Gabba Cricket Stadium is also home to the Queensland state cricket team in Australia and the Brisbane Lions team in the Australian Football League.
It is also noteworthy that the second Test match of this year's Ashes cricket series will be held at the Gabba Cricket Stadium in Brisbane as a day-night match.
